Engineering Surveys & Dimension Control

GEOSIGHT engineering and dimensional control survey services are provided to the construction support industry where the need exists to check that millimetric design tolerances of components have been achieved during the fabrication process, or where the requirement to check structure verticality and horizontal alignment exists. GEOSIGHT utilise highly accurate total stations, laser scanners and highly accurate close range 3D photogrammetry methods to capture precise dimension data to ensure the correct design, fabrication, and installation of components.

Setting Out

Setting-out services are provided for the various stages of the build process on a construction site, including marking out the required points of the design in order to allow the build to progress efficiently and without costly delays. GEOSIGHT setting out engineers utilise Total Station and GNSS technology and can visit construction sites at various stages during the build process, marking out the required points of the design in order to allow the construction to progress smoothly and on schedule.

3D Scanning, Photogrammetry & Modelling

GEOSIGHT are specialists in 3D Laser Scanning and 3D photogrammetry which is carried out wherever there is a need to capture high resolution dimension data to produce a fully geo-referenced 3D model of a building, a structure or a parcel of land. The primary application for high resolution 3D laser data capture is to model components and buildings and structures both internally and externally creating the basis for traditional drawings or a 3D model as an input to a BIM project.

Movement (Deformation) Monitoring

GEOSIGHT offer an integrated movement monitoring service enabling engineers to monitor and model the built and dynamic natural environment. We have experience in undertaking monitoring surveys to identify the settlement of buildings, deformation of civil structures and the movement of natural features to the highest order of accuracy, using precision survey instruments such as digital levels, high accuracy reflectorless total stations, and where practicable RTK GNSS.
We can detect and map small changes in the vertical and horizontal movement of features, and provide full 3D XYZ coordinate differences in both real-time or over longer time periods to identify changes and trends. Each monitoring programme that we undertake is designed specifically for the required duration, sensor type, measurement frequency, accuracy and reporting format.
