GEOSIGHT Visit Salisbury and Bournemouth Young Careers Events

GEOSIGHT's maintained their commitment of helping others by attending two young career events across the South this week.

In keeping with GEOSIGHT’s commitment to support young people, Matt Deacon took part in a morning of mock interviews with GCSE students at Avonbourne College, Bournemouth. This involved going through practice interview questions with the candidates for their chosen jobs and offering careers advice.

Speaking of his experience Matt praised the students for their commitment to future career prospects:

“I was very impressed with the students that I interviewed today. Some had obviously spent a lot of time thinking about a career and had already taken steps towards improving their personal skills. Others were unsure about what they would like to do, yet were still keen to engage and explore options open to them.”

More information about the day and the challenges posed  by temporary employer Matt can be found here: http://www.deepsouthmedia.co.uk/avonbourne-interview-challenge/

At a related event Andrew Coombes took part in the Bright Futures Careers Fair at Godolphin School in Salisbury. Here he answered a wide range of questions about surveying from the students, many of whom were unaware of the varied and diverse career opportunities within the industry.

To give the students a taste of the equipment used in surveying, we showcased a Leica BLK 360 Laser Scanner, TS1202 and Leica Mini Prism which sparked great interest from the students.
